Version 3.0.0 Patch Notes

■New School Year
New main art and group Costumes
To reflect the development of the game's characters and their feelings over the course of the story thus far, all six groups are getting brand new main art, including new group Costumes for the five groups other than VIRTUAL SINGER.
" Brand new group Costumes for each SEKAI's first VIRTUAL SINGERS!
" All players will automatically receive the new group Costumes directly when they log in after the update.
What's more, characters' casual outfits and the way they wear their school uniforms are also changing. Keep an eye out for everyone's new looks when you see them in stories or wandering around the home screen!
New stages and songs for each group
Each of the six groups will have a new group song, each specially commissioned for the game, along with a new 3D music video stage.
The first of these is I'm Mine, created by halyosy for the VIRTUAL SINGER group. This will be added to the game as part of the JP 3rd Anniversary New Music Campaign.
The remaining group songs are set to be announced and added once per month.
New 2★ Characters for characters with new artwork
The new Characters will appear in Gacha from September 30 onward.
Updated Character Profiles
Characters' profiles, including their self-introductions, will update to reflect the new school year. You will still be able to see the old profiles and self-intros on our website.
New one-panel manga
The one-panel manga seen on loading screens will be replaced by new ones reflecting the new school year. You will still be able to see the old manga on our website.
New Area Conversations
Look forward to over 180 brand new Area Conversations reflecting the characters' life changes in the new school year.
Revisit old Area Conversations with Memory Fragment
The Memory Fragment makes Area Conversations from the previous school year available for players who want to revisit them. Find it on the home screen when choosing which area to visit.
Updated "Senior High Student" Titles
The Titles "1st Year Senior High Student" and "2nd Year Senior High Student" will be replaced by the new Titles "2nd Year Senior High Student" and "3rd Year Senior High Student". The original Titles will still be available to unlock with the same criteria.
Other new school year updates
- New voice lines for the login bonus screen, Training and other situations
- New Custom Profile materials
*Be aware that materials and layouts in your existing Custom Profiles may be altered by this update.
■3D Graphics Update
We are implementing sweeping updates to 3D graphics throughout the game, such as character models and music video VFX.
While some functionality improvements will apply to all 3D music videos, the graphic updates will largely be restricted to new videos released from the JP 3rd Anniversary celebrations onward.
Character model improvements
Model outlines will become smoother thanks to anti-aliasing* and other methods. Characters' pupils will move around, and hair covering eyes will be translucent.
- Character models
- Eyes visible through hair
*Anti-aliasing will be applied to music videos in the Music Video Viewer, but not in the rhythm game.
Improved VFX
In addition to more realistic lighting, improved shading and blurring will allow for greater expressive range.
- Lighting
- Shading
- Blur
*Effects may not display correctly on some devices.
*Some effects will be applied to music videos in the Music Video Viewer, but not in the rhythm game.
Five updated 3D music videos
We are updating the 3D music videos for the following five existing songs:
- Tale of the Deep-sea Lily
- IF
- Cinema
- Tondemo-Wonderz
- IDSMILE
Revised system requirements
In preparation for this update, we have repeatedly tested and fine-tuned the app in the hope of maintaining the current minimum system requirements.
However, it was found that the rhythm game and other parts of the app did not run correctly on some 6th generation iPads.
As a result, the 6th generation iPad will no longer be considered within minimum system requirements for the app following the update, and will be replaced by the 7th generation iPad.
We apologize for the sudden announcement and ask for your understanding.
■Revamped App
Brand new user interface
As the game has evolved and gained more and more features, in-game menus have come to display increasing amounts of information and become complex. In response to this, we are implementing a massive update to interfaces throughout the entire app, including a new system font.
- Menus moved to the right-hand side of the screen.
- Pop-up dialog boxes can be closed by tapping outside the window.
- Main, Event and Side Stories have been streamlined into one menu.
- Option to browse Side Stories that a character appears in as a side character.
- Cover art and search bar added to Song Select screen.
- New options for filtering and sorting songs.
- Option to swap around Characters when editing a group for a show.
- Bonus Energy usage can be adjusted before a show begins or during matchmaking.
- Skill activation and "On Fire!" will now display outside the lanes.
- Hairstyles display alongside Costumes when setting up the Music Video Viewer.
- Items do not display if you own zero of them.
These are just some of the many improvements coming to the game. But don't take our word for it--try them out for yourself after the update!
New Gacha animation
With new-and-improved graphics now available, the 3D animation played when pulling from Gacha has been updated.
Character stats removed
Currently, each Character has three stats--Performance, Technique and Stamina. However, these are not part of any feature of the game, and there are no plans to add such a feature. For this reason, we are removing stats from the game.
"Talent" is currently the total of the three stats, but this will now be a standalone value. Any menus that currently refer to it as a "total" of three stats will update to reflect this.
Group Ranks removed
We removed unlock conditions from the Main Stories in the version 2.6.0 update, rendering the Group Rank feature irrelevant. We are now removing the feature entirely.
To reflect this, the unlock requirement for the "Fan of All" Title is changing as follows:
Old: Increase the Group Rank of all groups to 20.
New: View each group's Main Story without skipping or fast forwarding.
■Rhythm Game Updates
New difficulty: Append
Introducing Append, the new multi-digit difficulty option that requires at least three fingers to play. Append overlaps with the existing Expert and Master difficulties and ranges from Levels 23 to 38.
Append will be available for the following 12 songs beginning September 30.
New Append songs:
- Tell Your World
- NEO
- HIBANA -Reloaded-
- Stella
- MORE! JUMP! MORE!
- The Vampire
- Cinema
- Pheles
- Tondemo-Wonderz
- Telecaster b boy
- I am you
- Gehenna
*Make sure to disable any functions on your device that use three or more fingers (e.g., gestures on iOS).
*The difficulty level shown when Append is enabled represents the song's difficulty as an Append song, and so will feel different from Expert or Master.
*Append is intended to range in difficulty from levels 23 to 38. However, those numbers are based not on the range of difficulties at the time that the above songs were released, but rather on how the range of difficulties is expected to change moving forward.
In Ranked Matches, Append songs do not apply for unlock criteria and will not be selected when determining players' Starting Rank. However, they will appear for Diamond Rank and above.
We plan to continue adding Append options for new and existing songs on a regular basis.
New note type: Trace
New Trace notes do not assess your accuracy when you begin and end a note. Just keep your finger down for the duration of the note.
Customizable note skins and SFX
We are adding the option to choose between the classic skin and sound effect and a new set of these.

The default settings following this update will be 60 FPS with VSync enabled. These can be changed on the options menu.
Please note that this is a tentative prerelease, and that these features continue to be tested. If you do encounter any issues with the rhythm game, please reset your settings to the defaults.
*While we recommend enabling VSync, we suggest disabling it if you have stability issues at 120 FPS.
*Please be aware that these features may not be available for certain devices that do not support 120 FPS.
